Job Summary

The Engineering Technician – Mechanical is a key member of our team, responsible for the safe and effective operation, maintenance, and management of facility assets, infrastructure, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct technical studies, analyses, and investigations to identify and develop solutions for facility infrastructure and equipment modifications, upgrades, and replacements.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and design staff in various tasks, including installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Review and provide technical advice on proposed changes to facility infrastructure and systems, from general concepts to detailed designs.
  • Plan, coordinate, administer, and execute tasks in support of critical infrastructure configuration changes.
  • Develop ROM costing estimates for facility infrastructure, equipment, and system modifications, upgrades, replacements, and recapitalizations.
  • Evaluate operational systems, equipment, processes, and infrastructure to support general and targeted optimization and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all site's environmental health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • Trade qualification
  • Certificate IV in Mechanical/Refrigeration/HVAC or other relevant related discipline
  • Driver's License
Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in progressively responsible Mechanical/Refrigeration/HVAC positions within the Government Services or related industries.
  • Experience in areas such as power generation and distribution, heat transfer, HVAC system balancing, load management, data centre cooling systems, configuration management, building management and control systems, facilities operation and maintenance, project management, and excellent communication skills.
