Disability Support Worker Role

Melba Support Services offers a values-based, not-for-profit community organisation committed to providing services that support individuals with disability to lead everyday lives of their choice. We uphold human rights and promote independence.

The Disability Support Worker role is designed for individuals who are passionate about enabling and working with people. The position requires daily living support and promoting personal choice and control for the person supported.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing support plans based on individual needs, preferences and interests
  • Providing daily living support from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night
  • Assisting with activities like social events, work and appointments
  • Promoting personal choice and control for the person supported
  • Administering medication as required

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A passion for enabling and working with people
  • Desire for meaningful work and comfortable providing people with daily living support
  • Willingness to learn new skills and undertake ongoing training
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Requirements for the role include:

  • NDIS Worker screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Unrestricted Australian Driver's License
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
