About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Home Assessor to join our team at Auto & General. As a Home Assessor, you will play a critical role in assessing and reporting on building damage to domestic insured properties, providing accurate Scopes of Works for rectification works, and supporting our claims team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Reporting: Attend clients' properties and accurately report on building damage, in line with policy coverage.
  • Scope of Works: Provide accurate Scopes of Works for rectification works to be carried out on insurable events.
  • Claims Support: Review expert reports, provide technical advice, and recommendations on policy coverage to our claims team.
  • Documentation and Timeliness: Submit reports, review SOW's, and documentation in a timely manner, adhering to set SLA's.
  • Best Method of Repair: Determine and advise on the overall best method of repair of the building.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Adhere to company values and high customer service expectations, ensuring customer satisfaction checks in relation to building repairs.
  • Project Coordination: Manage complex/large loss claims, ensuring consistent adherence to key performance measures (KPI).
  • Virtual Assessments: Conduct virtual/desktop assessments and triage.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory and industry requirements, and adhere to company policies.
Requirements
  • Experience: Manage quality building work, enhance customer satisfaction, and possess a strong understanding of building methodology.
  • Skills: Produce accurate scopes of works, demonstrate exceptional time management and organisational skills, and possess reputable communication skills and conflict resolution handling.
  • Background: Experience in managing, coaching, and appraising builders, and building effective business relationships with builders.
  • Insurance Experience: Preferred but not essential.
