Job Description:

We are seeking a Transport Operations Manager to join our team in leading the day-to-day activities of our transport operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation, with experience in managing teams and ensuring safe and efficient delivery of goods.

The role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of daily transport operations, including supervising a team of drivers, scheduling deliveries, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of drivers, provide guidance, and ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Develop and implement daily transport plans, taking into account traffic, weather, and operational factors.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensure compliance with road safety, fatigue management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Step in to drive company vehicles when required, e.g., peak times or absenteeism.
  • Operate a forklift to support warehouse and loading functions as needed.
  • Monitor and report on delivery KPIs, identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Experience in transport operations or supervisory roles within logistics or FMCG.
  • Valid HC driver's licence and willingness to drive if needed.
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong understanding of transport safety and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a focus on team development.
