Estimated Salary: AU$150,000 - AU$180,000 per annum

About the Role:

The Project Director will play a pivotal role in driving our mission forward and transforming the way businesses operate in the digital world. This position involves providing leadership and driving a high-performing, collaborative team culture to safely deliver highly specialised data centre fitout projects which includes Hyperscale, Colocation, Infrastructure Upgrades, capacity expansion projects across NEXTDC's existing data centre portfolio.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the technical team to design customised solutions that meet the customer's needs while aligning with the data centre's capabilities and infrastructure requirements for the fitout including space allocation, power density, cooling needs, and security protocols, through regular communication and meetings
  • Coordinate with Customer Stakeholders to establish strong working relationships with key customer representatives and facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders.
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction by striving to exceed customer expectations by delivering a high-quality fitout that meets or surpasses their requirements and addressing any feedback or complaints promptly.
  • Provide client-side oversight and direction to the project team, to achieve the end-to-end implementation of new data centre solutions, embedding a strong safety culture, and driving operational and business improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and oversee development of pre-construction planning activities including design coordination, budgeting, scheduling and procurement, including the engagement and oversight of the Principal Contractor to undertake Early Contractor involvement processes
  • Undertake the role of Principal's Representative for the building contracts, acting as day-to-day interface with construction-related consultants and contractors for decision-making and stakeholder communications to ensure effective contract management
  • Development and execution of project strategy documents, including the project controls plan, procurement strategy, communications, change management, and risk management plans to align with company goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimise project outcomes.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare, write, and present regular project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

A strong analytical and problem-solving skillset, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence, consult and deliver a quality service while effectively balancing client expectations with corporate requirements and directions.
