Job Title

A highly skilled automation engineer is sought after to join our organization.

About the Role

The role of the automation engineer is to design, implement and document Building Management System (BMS) controls. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of interface protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, OPC, SNMP, etc., and experience with NodeRed, MQTT, and other automation methods.

  • Design, implement, and document BMS controls
  • Create functional descriptions, specifications, points lists, schedules, system architectures, and other topologies
  • Prepare construction correspondence such as submittals and requests for information
  • Plan and schedule project execution, provide status updates on all assigned tasks, and demonstrate the ability to work independently
  • Offer technical guidance to project & service team members
  • Record and communicate all technical issues or risks to the relevant stakeholders
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a degree qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or related discipline) and strong interest in building automation systems and operational technology (OT). Additionally, they will have good written & verbal communication skills, exceptional time management, and a valid driver's licence.

The following are key skills and qualifications required for the role:

  • Qualified to work with DISTECH controllers and the Tridium Niagara framework
  • Good knowledge of IT Networks, Servers, PCs, and other IT equipment
  • Understanding software development principles including JavaScript and other languages
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
