About the Role

West Coast Sheet Metal is seeking a skilled CNC Metal Machinist to join our team. As a CNC Metal Machinist, you will play a crucial role in helping us produce high-quality machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Coordinate Machining - Study work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans to determine machining requirements, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain Quality and Safety Standards - Adhere to quality assurance procedures, detect malfunctions, and maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Inventory Management - Check stock levels, anticipate needs, and place orders to maintain an efficient stock inventory system.
  • Collaborate with the Team - Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity among work shifts.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Cert III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade or Fitter & Turner) or similar qualification;
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Proficiency in Mastercam software or similar CNC programming software;
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
  • A strong focus on quality and safety.
