Job Role

The role of Dental Assistant is to provide clinical and administrative support to dental officers and oral health therapists in delivering safe and effective oral health services.

Duties

Key responsibilities include assisting with all oral health care procedures, providing high level competency in infection control principles and procedures, using computer software and electronic systems to complete work tasks, and demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Selection Criteria
  • Experience in dental assisting and qualification in a field recognised by the relevant council or equivalent, OR experience and preparedness to undertake Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
  • High level of competency in assisting with all oral health care procedures.
  • Experience and understanding of current infection control principles and procedures.
  • Ability to use computer software and electronic systems to complete work tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
