Job Opportunity

The Fleet and Equipment Maintenance Manager role is a key position that will shape the future of fleet and equipment maintenance across Australia.

This pivotal national leadership role involves setting and driving standards for safe, compliant, and cost-effective workshop operations.

  • Lead the delivery of national maintenance strategy to ensure heavy vehicles and yellow gear are available, reliable, and performing to meet customer needs.
  • Oversee contract frameworks, warranty programs, and vendor partnerships to strengthen asset performance while driving cost control and sustainability outcomes.
  • Partner with Fleet Operations, Procurement, HSEQ, and the Executive team to provide critical oversight across people, assets, market engagement, and financials to deliver strong national outcomes aligned to strategic pillars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage national fleet maintenance or engineering functions with strong compliance and safety leadership.
  • Deep technical knowledge of heavy vehicle maintenance standards, regulatory requirements, and workshop operations.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing large maintenance budgets, warranty frameworks, and performance-based contracts.
  • Collaborative, outcome-focused leadership style engaging across functions and with external providers to deliver consistency and excellence.
  • Familiarity with fleet and maintenance systems to support diagnostics, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Formal qualifications in mechanical or automotive engineering (post-graduate qualifications highly regarded).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. A proven record of managing national fleet maintenance or engineering functions with strong compliance and safety leadership.
  2. Technical expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance standards, regulatory requirements, and workshop operations.
  3. Commercial awareness with experience managing large maintenance budgets, warranty frameworks, and performance-based contracts.
  4. An effective leadership style engaging across functions and with external providers to deliver consistency and excellence.
