We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Vocational Education and Training (VET) Educator to join our team in Melbourne CBD. As a key member of our academic staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students by delivering high-quality teaching and assessment practices.

Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, develop your skills as a trainer, and contribute to the growth and development of our School. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in selected courses;
  • Participating in the School's continuing reviews of course content, delivery methods, and assessment strategies;
  • Interacting with external organizations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administration staff;

In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in professional development activities to maintain and develop your skills and knowledge relevant to the profession or discipline.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this position, you will need to possess the following essential criteria:

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments;
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment;
  • Demonstrated ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed;
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant industry and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position;
  • Demonstrated capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose, and implement effective solutions;
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team;

You will also need to hold a TAE50116 Diploma of VET or equivalent qualification, and a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship & New Business or Advanced Diploma in Conveyancing or Associate Degree in Legal Practice (Paralegal).

Salary and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 AUD, depending on qualifications and experience. You will also receive access to a range of benefits, including training and development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive salary packaging program.
