About Babcock
Babcock International Group is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to become an integral part of one of our Defence contracts. In this position, you will play a key role in procuring goods and services for our Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment contract (ADFGSE). We have established a strategic partnership with the Australian Defence Force for the efficient asset management of the common GSE fleet.
Your Responsibilities
As a Procurement Specialist, your responsibilities will include preparing and issuing purchase orders through both Babcock's and our clients' Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. You will actively contribute to ensuring the timely delivery of orders from suppliers, monitoring their performance against contractual obligations. Additionally, the role involves implementing effective processes to manage supplier and inventory-related activities, aiming to minimise risks in the areas of quality, on-time delivery, and cost.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and issue purchase orders through ERP systems
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and monitor their performance
- Implement processes to manage inventory and reduce risks
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain and/or Logistics
- Computer literacy and skills in MS Office software and ERP systems
- Negotiation and influencing skills to achieve desired business outcomes
- Experience with MILIS in Defence Inventory Management, Governance, and Stocktaking
- Australian citizenship and a current Defence security clearance
