PhD Opportunity in Microbial Extraction of Rare Earth Elements

We are seeking a highly skilled PhD candidate to undertake research in sustainable resource management and biotechnology.
Job DescriptionThe selected candidate will be responsible for developing innovative microbial processes for extracting and recovering rare earth elements from primary and secondary sources. This project involves investigating the use of microbial processes to extract REEs from various sources, with a focus on understanding the underlying mechanisms and optimizing the extraction efficiency.
The successful candidate will work closely with our research team to design and conduct laboratory experiments involving microbial culturing and recombinant DNA techniques such as cloning, transformation, and plasmid construction. They will also collect and analyze data, and interpret results in the context of the research project.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A strong academic background in chemical or biological engineering, microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in microbial culturing.
- Hands-on skills in recombinant DNA techniques (such as cloning, transformation, and plasmid construction) are preferred.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to conduct independent research.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and equipment, and will work in a dynamic and supportive research environment.
