Art Teacher Role

Secondary Art Instructor Position

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Secondary Art Instructor to join our team at a large multi-campus Christian school. This is a part-time position, approximately 0.3 to 0.4 FTE, located in Pakenham.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the curriculum in a manner consistent with the guidelines and policies set by the school board and leadership team, and from a Christian worldview perspective. They will also foster a safe and caring environment for all students while role modeling the love of Jesus Christ.

The primary responsibilities of this teacher include:

  • Maintaining a learning environment that encourages positive attitudes towards learning and sets challenging yet achievable expectations for students
  • Effectively assessing student performance and providing feedback in an encouraging and confidence-building manner
  • Planning and carrying out daily activities to fulfill the objectives of the school's educational policies and mission statement
  • Building relationships with students and parents through a partnering approach to learning
Qualifications and Characteristics

Applicants must have relevant tertiary qualifications in education and be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. They should also possess the following characteristics:

  • A demonstrated commitment to the school's Statement of Faith
  • Experience teaching Art at senior secondary level
  • Sound knowledge of teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
  • The ability to utilize a range of teaching strategies as may be relevant
  • The ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with students and parents
