Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our Mechatronics initiative, guiding students and academics in a dynamic hands-on environment.

As subject matter expert in Mechatronics, you will deliver a safe, inclusive, and student-centred workshop service.

You will facilitate learning experiences in electronics and programming, advise on fabrication techniques and advanced equipment, and play a vital role in developing the next generation of creators and innovators.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering core training, mentoring users in practical skills, and contributing to the growth and evolution of our program through continuous improvement and innovation.

This includes providing expert advice on tools and equipment, supporting Program Managers, guiding users, and assisting academic and student groups with coursework and projects.

To be successful, you will have a background in Engineering, Design, or Manufacturing, relevant industry experience, a Diploma or higher qualification in Mechatronics, Electronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, hands-on experience in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, CAD/CAM, and fabrication, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing students.

Requirements
  • Background in Engineering, Design, or Manufacturing
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Mechatronics, Electronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, CAD/CAM, and fabrication
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Possession of a passion for mentoring and developing students
