About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contracts Advisor to join our Commercial team in Perth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contractual matters on our projects, ensuring compliance with our Operating Standards, and providing commercial and contract advice to our project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with all Clough and SCJV Operating Standards throughout project delivery, and maintain accurate records of contractual matters.
  2. Contract Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of head contract, subcontract, supply chain, and risk strategy and procedures in line with SCJV and Clough Operating Standards.
  3. Subcontract Negotiation: Negotiate and form subcontracts for key packages, ensuring that all conditions precedent are strictly adhered to.
  4. Claims Management: Support the development of claims strategies relating to head contract issues and major subcontractor claims, and prepare all claims and variations for the adjustment of compensation and time under the head contract.
  5. Commercial Support: Provide commercial and contract advice and support to project teams managing the head contract and any assigned subcontracts, and participate in project risk and opportunity reviews on a minimum monthly frequency.
  6. Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with project planners, in-house and external legal teams, and other stakeholders as required, to ensure that all contractual matters are fully demonstrated and comply with the requirements of the head contract and/or subcontract.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 8+ years of direct experience in similar senior commercial or contracts management roles on large value engineering and construction projects.
  2. Skills: Proven ability to administer and prepare correspondence, position papers on contractual/commercial matters, highly organized and energetic team member with excellent communication skills, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders and apply time management and prioritization skills to deliver desired outcomes.
  3. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in engineering, quantity surveying, law, construction management, and economics (CM&E) preferred.
