About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned aquatic ecologist to lead our aquatic ecology team and drive innovation in water management solutions, leveraging expertise in ecological assessments and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage high-performing aquatic ecology teams, mentoring junior professionals and driving career growth through coaching and mentoring.
  • Plan and implement field-based data collection projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Pursue high-impact projects across diverse sectors, meeting quality, cost, and timeline expectations through effective project management.
  • Deliver clear, science-based technical reports for community and regulatory review, incorporating stakeholder feedback and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualifications in ecology or environmental science from a reputable institution.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, manage projects, and contribute to business development activities, with a strong focus on customer service and delivery.
  • In-depth knowledge of aquatic fauna sampling methods, including netting, traps, and electrofishing, as well as experience with statistical packages and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of statutory frameworks, policies, and science-based approaches governing water management, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments.
