Overview Principal Aquatic Ecologist to join Epic Environmental in Brisbane.
This is a market-facing consultant role aimed at elevating your career, with opportunities to mentor and build an industry-leading aquatic ecology team.
Responsibilities Build and develop an aquatic ecology team and mentor junior team members Plan and implement field-based data collection in line with State, Territory, and Commonwealth regulatory requirements Support the delivery of projects across multiple sectors, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, cost and quality requirements Prepare clear, science-based technical reports that stand up to community and regulatory scrutiny What You'll Bring Tertiary qualifications, from a recognised institution, in ecology or an environmental science related discipline, or similar relevant degree Ability to build relationships, manage projects, and contribute to business development activities Knowledge and experience with aquatic fauna sampling methods, including netting, traps and electrofishing Knowledge and experience with other aquatic ecology sampling methods, including macroinvertebrate, diatom and zooplankton sampling In-depth knowledge and experience with statistical packages and data analysis as it relates to aquatic ecology data Proven experience with preparing winning proposals for small to large scale projects Strong understanding of the statutory frameworks, policies and science-based approaches that govern water management Benefits / Our perks Work from home options - we believe there is life beyond work Competitive salary + perks Interesting projects to work on Plenty of social events Direct access to our accessible and knowledgeable directors We are a collaborative, knowledge sharing group - everyone helps everyone Trust and autonomy How to apply / Next steps For all enquiries or to send your application directly to us: Follow us on Linked In: To view some of our projects: Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Research, Analyst, and Information Technology #J-18808-Ljbffr
