Job Title: Emergency Department Trainee - Stage 1

Description:

The primary objective of this position is to provide clinical care, under suitable supervision, to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical environment.

This includes both Adult and Paediatric patients. The successful candidate will gain experience in a critical care setting and have responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience of the incumbent.

The Trainee - Stage 1 will be expected to supervise and participate in teaching Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students, and take part in research where appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of an MBBS or equivalent degree
  • Current registration with the medical board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team
  • ALS2 certificate preferred or commitment to complete within 12 months of commencing appointment
  • At least three years' postgraduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
