Job Title: Associate Director - Structures

We are seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer to join our team as an Associate Director - Structures. This role will involve taking the technical lead on major projects, supporting our well-established structures group.

About the Role

This is a hands-on engineering role driving the technical delivery on our projects. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist advice and leading the technical delivery on design activities associated with transport structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, gantries, and tunnels
  • Supervising and conducting structural analysis and remediation design of bridges and other structures
  • Managing the development of structural asset management deliverables, including design reports, drawings, models, specifications, etc.
  • Supporting the expansion of HDR's other services, providing technical design experience and support to the broader structures team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years' relevant experience
  • Consulting experience - highly advantageous
  • Project delivery experience demonstrating detailed knowledge of TMR technical requirements - essential
  • Excellent structural engineering skills with significant experience in the analysis, design, and management of transport-related structures
  • CPEng and RPEQ accreditation (or eligibility to easily obtain)
  • Highly developed skills in the use of appropriate structural and asset management software applications and design tools (e.g., SpaceGass, Strand 7, SAM, Excel, etc.)
