Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Director of Australian Rules Football Program Lead to lead our program across Melbourne Grammar School. As a key member of our sports team, you will be responsible for developing and leading the delivery of a comprehensive, sequential, and challenging coaching and skill development program for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement a Football Strategy: Design a football strategy that promotes a consistent and contemporary game style throughout all Year Levels and for all student abilities with clear performance goals and objectives.
- Lead and Guide Coaching Staff: Lead and guide the use of best practice coaching and strategy, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to coaching staff.
- Annual Review and Program Development: In conjunction with senior Australian Rules Football program team members, prepare an annual review that strives to strengthen the sport and program.
- Player and Talent Development: Oversee player and talent development and implement a selection process and guidelines for coaches that aligns with the values of the School, including pathways for elite players.
- Program Management: Program management includes resourcing, scheduling, and oversight of matches, training sessions, pre-season programs, and camps.
- Ambassador for the Program: Act as a positive ambassador for the program, engaging with the MGS community, supporting the Marn Grook club, and attending events as required.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Proven experience and a record of success in designing and managing an engaging Australian Rules Football program at a high-performance level.
- Leadership and Planning Skills: Effective leadership, planning, and administrative skills with the ability to work to timelines.
- Confidence and Communication Skills: Confidence working with, and challenging, highly capable young sportsmen, including elite athletes.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: Enjoyment in building positive and collaborative working relationships with students, staff, and other members of the School community.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Level 2 Coaching Accreditation and a Level 2 First Aid certificate.
Working with Children Check: All employees must obtain and hold a current Employee Working with Children Check as a condition of employment.
