Job Title: Patient Flow Manager

About The Role

The role of Patient Flow Manager is to provide clinical and professional leadership in the management of patient flow systems and capacity across Western NSW Local Health District.

This position will be responsible for strategic oversight and leadership of patient flow systems, monitoring operational issues with flow across sites and providing support, direction, guidance and advice to WNSWLHD executive and facility patient flow teams/executive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical and professional leadership in the management of patient flow systems and capacity
  • Ensuring coordinated, timely and efficient patient journeys across ambulatory, acute, sub-acute and community-based services within the health district
  • Leading the development and implementation of strategies to improve patient flow systems and capacity across the district
  • Collaborating with all Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) sites and services to ensure effective communication and coordination of care

Patient Flow Managers play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality, safe and effective care in a timely manner. This requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Postgraduate qualification in nursing or a related field
  • Extensive experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
