The Job Description

This role supports the Director of Operations Safety, Training and Resilience in strengthening enterprise-wide resilience planning.

  • Coordinating and supporting Crisis and Incident Management Teams for rapid customer-focused emergency responses.
  • Ensuring compliance with emergency management, risk, and rail safety legislation and standards.

This involves developing and implementing business resilience strategies.

About You

You're a strategic thinker with a calm approach and a strong background in emergency management, business continuity, or operational risk.

A natural collaborator, you build trust quickly and thrive in complex environments where stakeholder engagement, sound judgement, and clear communication are key.

You'll possess the following:

  • A relevant qualification in Emergency Management and/or Business Continuity (Diploma or Cert IV) or be working towards one.
  • Proven experience working within a critical infrastructure environment.
  • Experience in heavy rail or infrastructure settings (advantageous).
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management) and ISO 31000 (Risk Management) frameworks.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
