This role provides the opportunity to support individuals in their daily lives, providing personal care and facilitating social interactions.
About The Role
The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering mental health support, managing challenging behaviors, transporting clients, assisting with light household cleaning, offering social support, and accompanying clients on community access outings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and promoting independence
- Facilitating social interactions and community engagement
- Delivering mental health support and counseling services
- Managing challenging behaviors and developing de-escalation strategies
- Transporting clients to appointments and activities
- Assisting with light household cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offering social support and companionship
- Accompanying clients on community access outings and promoting inclusive practices
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in mental health or positive behavior support
- Previous experience as a support worker, preferably in the disability sector
- NDIS worker screening clearance
- A current First Aid Certificate
- A Working With Children Check
- A valid driver's licence (P2 or above) and access to a reliable vehicle
