Unique Rural Health Opportunity for Basic Trainee Medical Registrars

As a Basic Trainee Medical Registrar, you will have the opportunity to work in a unique and challenging environment at Alice Springs Hospital. Our hospital is a 183-bed teaching facility that provides comprehensive medical services to patients from diverse backgrounds.
Job DescriptionThis role involves working with General Physicians and Specialists in various departments, including General Medicine, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Infectious diseases, Respiratory, Palliative care, Alcohol and other drugs, Nephrology, Rehabilitation, and many regular visiting specialists. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, conducting thorough examinations, and developing treatment plans.
The successful candidate will be required to complete 2 years of basic training at our hospital and have the opportunity to gain experience in rural general medicine or indigenous health.
Around 75% of our patients are Indigenous, providing a unique and rewarding experience for healthcare professionals.
- Delivering patient-centered care in a multicultural environment.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive medical services.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans to meet individual patient needs.
To be successful in this role, you must be AHPRA-registered and eligible for training positions. We strongly encourage candidates from other training streams, such as ACCRM, GP, and critical care, to apply.
The ideal candidate will have PGY 3+ experience and a strong passion for working in a rural setting.
