Job Opportunity: Tax Expert Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Expert Lead to oversee the delivery of tax services in Australia. This is a senior role that requires expertise and experience in handling complex tax issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate production of tax deliverables for clients, including tax distributions, tax provision calculations, income tax returns, and CGT;
  • Handle complex tax queries and escalate as needed;
  • Identify risk issues, breaches, and act in accordance with our risk escalation chain and operating procedures;
  • Liaise with clients on key tax matters, service governance reviews, and projects;
  • Participate in prospecting opportunities for new clients and RFP responses;
  • Oversee the effective coordination of activities with other departments;
  • Lead periodic reviews of key processes, including operating model changes, technology changes, and vendor management;
  • Manage auditor/client queries;
  • Evaluate staffing needs while striving for greater efficiencies;
  • Remain informed of regulatory changes, new industry developments;

Requirements:

  • Post Graduate qualifications (CA/CPA/CFA) with relevant experience in an accounting or financial services environment;
  • At least 10+ years of experience in tax, statutory reporting, or financial reporting for managed investment and superannuation funds in Australia;
  • 5+ years supervisory experience is required;
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills, proven track record of efficiency creation, staff development, and people management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on service quality;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines;
