Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client expectations and build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and execute daily running maintenance within budget and to high quality standards.
  • Monitor and follow up on planned maintenance systems to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Generate and approve purchase orders and requisitions, and inspect goods delivered.
  • Supervise and coach Chief Engineers to ensure smooth and professional on-board technical management.
  • Conduct vessel inspections and report on vessel status to Regional Marine Manager and Contract Manager.
  • Analyze root causes of defects and take timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Arrange surveys with flag state and classification authorities and other relevant parties.
  • Ensure full compliance with vessel certifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute dry dockings in line with quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Supervise and evaluate activities and performance of third-party contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure damages are surveyed and repaired in consultation with classification societies and the insurance department.
  • Optimize and implement technical standards for new builds.
  • Maintain daily communication with assigned vessels.

Requirements

  • A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Maritime Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Ship Management as a Technical Superintendent or equivalent.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach, maintaining high standards and good work ethics.
  • High level of organizational and planning skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality outcomes that are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Ability to satisfy a company pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol screening, and site inductions.
