As a Geochemist, you will play a pivotal role in helping create a better tomorrow. Our team of interdisciplinary experts works closely together to provide innovative solutions for mining companies looking to responsibly and safely return mine-affected land at the end of their lifecycle.
Our mission is centered around challenging the status quo and advocating for meaningful partnerships and positive outcomes for community stakeholders and Indigenous rightsholders. We believe in championing diversity and inclusion, and fostering a culture of flexibility, work-life balance, and open communication.
The Geochemist will be responsible for providing geochemical and hydrogeological advice on cover systems design, landform design, landform modeling, and integrated mine planning. You will develop and manage sampling and analysis programs, complete QA/QC checks on data captured by field monitoring systems, and conduct background information reviews to support conceptual designs, plans, and models.
A key aspect of this role is having a strong understanding of acid rock drainage (ARD) / acid and metalliferous drainage (AMD) processes and characterization methods. You will also understand key regulatory requirements for material characterization with respect to AMD and provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to staff.
In addition, the Geochemist will leverage existing professional networks to pursue new leads, opportunities, and strategic partnerships. You will maintain effective client relationships and networks, generate opportunities, and interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
Key qualifications include tertiary qualifications in geosciences, strong knowledge of all geochemical policies, procedures, and legislative frameworks relative to mining and mine closure, and strong verbal and written communication skills. You must have proven experience and ability to write and oversee professional proposal development, as well as create and deliver effective presentations.
Leadership skills are essential, including communication, accountability, honesty, empathy, creativity, responsibility, and flexibility. As a member of our team, you will embody our core values: Passionate, Smart and Clever, Positive, Thoughtful and Caring, and Humble.
We lead with integrity, fairness, and transparency, ensuring Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines are followed in the execution of all work.
