Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced AML Operations leader to drive process excellence, quality control, training, and performance reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for uplifting the maturity of our AML operations by designing and embedding sustainable processes, implementing quality monitoring frameworks, and building the capability of our AML professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Design and Improvement: Lead the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of AML processes (ECDD, transaction monitoring, customer name screening, AUSTRAC reporting).
  • Quality Control Framework: Develop and embed a robust AML Operations Quality Control framework.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor quality performance, analyse trends, and drive remediation and uplift activities.
  • Training and Onboarding: Design and deliver AML training and onboarding programs, uplifting role-specific expertise and team engagement.
  • Management Information: Enhance management information and reporting through dashboards, KPIs, and actionable insights.
  • Representative Role: Represent AML Operations in audits, reviews, and cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Proven Experience: Proven AML operational leader with experience in AML/CTF, financial crime or similar within a highly regulated industry.
  • Expert Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the Australian AML/CTF framework, sanctions, and operational best practice.
  • Strong Capability: Strong capability in process design, quality frameworks, and performance reporting.
  • Training Expertise: Track record of delivering training and coaching to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working across risk, compliance, and business teams.
