About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team at Costco Wholesale in Auburn. As a Butcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to members, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and reassemble equipment, ensuring it is sanitized and ready for use.
  • Meat Preparation: Cut and trim meat to Costco specifications, using band saws and knives, and operate tenderizing machines.
  • Meat Mincing: Operate meat mincers, checking fat content of each batch and following proper department production procedures.
  • Product Presentation: Assist with wrapping and stocking meat cases, ensuring a visually appealing display.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, including the coolroom, to comply with health regulations.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with monthly stocktakes, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: Completed Apprenticeship/Trade School preferred.
  • Experience: Must be a fully qualified Butcher with experience in a retail environment.
