Behaviour Support Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Nurse to join our team at St Vincent's Health Australia. As a Behaviour Support Nurse, you will play a critical role in supporting residents with complex behaviours in our residential aged care facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive behaviour support plans to address challenging behaviours in residents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide person-centred care and support to residents and their families.
- Conduct thorough assessments and analyses of data to identify triggers and risks resulting in challenging behaviours.
- Provide education and training to staff on behaviour management and support strategies.
- Work closely with facility managers and clinical leaders to ensure effective implementation of behaviour support plans.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to behaviour support and management.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Clinical Manager or Facility Manager in a residential aged care setting.
- Experience working with residents with complex behaviours in a residential aged care environment, specifically dementia-specific homes.
- Comprehensive understanding of dementia and associated cognitive impairments.
- Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, including SIRS & National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicators Program.
