Job Overview

  • The Middle School Girls Basketball Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance of a safe, respectful, and positive environment for student athletes.
  • Key areas of focus include knowledge of District policies and procedures, as well as South Carolina High School League policies and procedures.
  • Responsibilities also involve instructing and demonstrating skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement in basketball.
  • A critical aspect of this role is designing and implementing appropriate training programs and practice schedules to promote athlete growth and improvement.
  • The coach will also be responsible for scheduling non-region games and arranging transportation for away games.
  • Ensuring the safe storage and maintenance of sport equipment and uniforms is another essential duty.
  • Maintaining open communication with students, staff, parents, coaches, and officials is crucial in fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills are also required.
  • Ongoing collaboration with the Athletic Director and Principal is necessary to ensure alignment with school goals and objectives.
