About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Expert to join our team at Silentium Defence Pty. As a key member of our software engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of our passive radar solutions for Defence and civilian customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain critical software components, services, and applications for our passive radars and supporting subsystems.
  • Maintain software baselines, perform code reviews, and ensure proper change control processes are followed.
  • Ensure the stability and reliability of software releases through automated unit and regression testing.
  • Assist in planning, estimation, and design activities.
  • Write high-level design, interface, and test documentation.
  • Participate in trials, product demonstrations, and field support.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers.
  • Interact with customers and other stakeholders as a subject matter expert.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another relevant technical subject.
  • 2 years of work experience as a Software Engineer (multiple levels available).
  • Experience with the various aspects of the software development lifecycle (needs analysis, requirements, design, implementation, testing, support).
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Good technical communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to reliably estimate task effort.
Clearances

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
