Medical Scientist, Genetics and Molecular Pathology Specialist

Central Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Medical Scientist to join their team in Genetics and Molecular Pathology. As a Medical Scientist, you will apply your specialist knowledge of cytogenetics, molecular genetics, or biochemical genetics to perform complex tests for cancer and non-cancer related disorders. Your expertise will be utilized to analyze results and provide interpretation of findings. You will demonstrate increased professional expertise, competence, and experience to perform standard professional tasks within the discipline. You will have attained greater specialized knowledge within the discipline and provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills. You will apply professional judgement to select and apply new and existing methods and techniques. You will demonstrate expertise obtained through appropriate professional development and operational experience. You will be responsible for the validation of Quality Control at the supervisory level under the direction of management. Essential Requirements include a current National Police Clearance, Working With Children Check, and Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. Educational/Vocational Qualifications include a degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 awarded from a university in Australia with >70% of subjects relevant to the field of pathology of a 3-year degree, a degree at Australian Qualifications Framework level 7 with subjects relevant to the field of pathology awarded by an overseas tertiary institution if the qualification is assessed as equivalent to a degree accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists, or an associate qualification conferred by the Australian Institute of Medical Technologists before 1 December 1973.
