Senior Indigenous Studies Professor

The University of Queensland is seeking an exceptional Senior Indigenous Studies Professor to lead our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit. As a highly respected academic with a strong track record in teaching, research, and community engagement, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs, conducting innovative research, and fostering meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective strategies to enhance the academic success of Indigenous students, including those from remote and disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university to design and deliver culturally responsive curricula that reflect the rich histories and cultures of Australia's First Nations peoples.
- Pursue a vigorous program of research that addresses pressing issues affecting Indigenous communities, such as education, health, and economic development.
- Foster strong relationships with Indigenous organizations, governments, and industry partners to promote mutual understanding and benefit.
- PhD in a relevant field, preferably with expertise in Indigenous Studies.
- Demonstrated experience in leading academic teams, developing curricula, and conducting research that prioritizes Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Salary and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary package of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, plus superannuation benefits, annual leave loading, and flexible working arrangements.
