About This Opportunity

The University of Queensland is driving the development of a national eResearch infrastructure project called the Language Data Commons of Australia (LDaCA). The project aims to support appropriate access, enable analysis and increase awareness of Australia's rich linguistic heritage.

This fixed-term position is part-time (40%), until 30 June 2026. As a Project Officer, you will report to the Project Manager, Industry Engagement and Communications (LDaCA), supporting Chief Investigators of the project. You will also engage in cross-functional collaboration to achieve common goals within the project by combining expertise and working effectively with other LDaCA focus areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the successful delivery and administration of aspects of the project cycle, including planning, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation to support the successful completion of the project.
  • Coordinate the development and management of project documentation, in particular production of how to guides and training materials.
  • Organise and support the delivery of project-related activities, events, consultation activities and meetings.
  • Undertake a range of administrative activities to support the project team, including note taking; summarising for reports and briefs; and undertaking complex data entry, retrieval, and document management.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements, including planning, developing materials, and facilitating stakeholder participation in the project.
Requirements
  • A degree or diploma in a discipline such as linguistics, Indigenous studies or data science, with subsequent experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills, ability to forward plan, prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work with a high level of adaptability, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral, written and stakeholder engagement communication skills with proven ability to produce clear, succinct documentation and the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in a research environment.
  • Strong digital literacy skills.
  • Desirable: proven experience working with Indigenous communities, people, knowledge or data.
  • Desirable: previous experience working as part of a project team or in a similar role.
