Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Café Chef to join our dynamic team in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen and leading the team, bringing our food vision to life every day.

This is a full-time role with day-time hours of work, Monday to Friday. However, from spring, the schedule will shift to Tuesday to Saturday to better support café trade.

About the Job
  • Oversee the kitchen operations and lead the team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Develop and implement menus across all venues, creating seasonal specials and ongoing menu evolution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within brand guidelines, contributing creative input and improvements.
  • Monitor kitchen finances and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure target margins are met, manage cost controls, and procurement.
  • Provide clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and strong organizational leadership.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a café kitchen environment.
  • A passion for food and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent menu development and cost management skills.
  • Solid understanding of managing kitchen finances, ensuring KPIs and target margins are met.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
