Job Description

This senior leadership role in healthcare is an opportunity to lead clinical teams and deliver high-quality patient care in remote and challenging environments.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills are required to represent the medical team and provide strategic guidance for safe, high-quality healthcare aligned with global and local health frameworks.
  • Clinical Expertise: Medical professionals with experience in leading teams and delivering patient care in resource-limited settings are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership: Represent the medical team and provide strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality healthcare aligned with global and local health frameworks.
  2. Safety and Quality: Supervise medical doctors, intensive care paramedics, and heads of department to ensure compliance with evidence-based guidelines and efficient health service delivery.
  3. Patient Care: Actively participate in patient care, including consultations, secondary reviews, and recommendations for medical referrals and evacuations as required.
  4. Coordination: Coordinate medical emergencies, referrals, and evacuations according to standard operating procedures and MERP, including documentation and reporting.
  5. Reporting: Provide written reports and returns in accordance with client needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: A medical degree and current, unrestricted license to practice are essential.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum ten years of experience including trauma/emergency, occupational health, family medicine, and at least 5 years in leadership or management roles.
  • Remote Leadership: Leadership experience in medical settings, including remote or resource-limited environments.
  • CPR Certification: Current CPR/BLS certification and willingness to obtain PNG medical registration.
