Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is a critical member of the Supply Chain team at Electro Optic Systems Pty Ltd. This role involves strategic category management, sourcing and procurement of mechanical and electronic components from external vendors to meet production requirements.

• Analyse specifications and drawings to source make-to-order materials and components for EOS Defence System production needs.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure all required information is available for RFQ and purchase process completion.
• Select suitable vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials in accordance with the Category Plan.
• Negotiate pricing and lead times with selected vendors to meet project and production demands.
• Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production.
• Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as necessary.
• Collaborate with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives.
• Create an appropriate delivery schedule when raising Purchase Orders (quantity, batch, and delivery dates) to meet Production demand.
• Onboard new suppliers when necessary, undertaking vendor checks and onboarding activities.
• Expediting open orders with vendors to meet required delivery dates, including liaison with vendors to understand delays and updating the ERP system and stakeholders with amended delivery dates.

• You must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• A Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification is highly regarded.
• Certification in APICS CSCP, CPIM, or CIPS is advantageous.
