About the Role

The Canterbury-Bankstown Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Venue Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our venue operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the Food and Beverage Supervisor in managing the daily operations of our cafe, ensuring menu items are consistently high-quality and prepared in a clean, hygienic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting up the cafe in preparation for trade, ensuring all equipment and fixtures are clean and hygienic.
  • Preparing and serving the daily menu and any required specials, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Collaborating with the Events and Catering Supervisor to enhance the experience of patrons and clients at our theatre and function rooms, ensuring their visits are enjoyable and comfortable.
  • Ensuring pre-planning for each day, particularly for functions, special events, and activities, to ensure seamless execution.
  • Providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high standard of personal presentation, and demonstrating personal integrity, honesty, and respect for customers at all times.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in cafe, catering, theatre, or function service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in food handling safe practices and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold RSA or willingness to obtain if successful.
