**The role**

Are you a qualified and experienced leader looking for an exciting opportunity to join an industry leading organisation? We are looking for a senior leader to manage the Leisure & Aquatic Operations Team across our suite of venues consisting of Operations Team Leaders, Site Supervisors, Duty Managers, Lifeguards, Customer Service Officers & Kiosk Attendants. Our Centres are located in Birrong, Canterbury, Greenacre, Roselands, Revesby and Villawood.

You will lead the team to deliver a safe and high-quality customer experience across multiple locations and contribute to the satisfactory financial performance of our services and programs, and the achievement of set KPI's.

You will also have the opportunity to commission a brand-new facility within the first two years at Council as we are shortly commencing the complete redevelopment of our Canterbury Leisure & Aquatic Centre - click here for a 3D fly through of this exciting new facility.

**Duties will include but not be limited to**:

- Oversee the operation of all of Council’s Leisure & Aquatic Centre asset management, maintenance and coordination of external contractors and internal trades.
- Research industry and community trends to ensure services being provided support the community, whilst making recommendations and contributing to the Unit's marketing strategies.
- Ensure team goals are set, which align with organisational performance objectives, so all employees understand their role in delivering a high-quality and safe service.
- Develop and nurture a positive and inclusive culture, that values and develops people, promotes high performance and is customer focused.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained, in line with budget and industry guidelines.
- Provide input in the preparation of the annual budget and effectively manage the approved budget within area of responsibility.
- Effectively manage WHS issues, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of incidents in Council’s Solv Safety system and that all staff are trained in WHS and Emergency Procedures.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Tertiary Qualifications in Business Management, WHS or related discipline.
- Pool Lifeguard Licence & Certificate.
- Technical Operations Certificate
- Senior First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Current Working with Children Check

**Essential Experience**:

- A comprehensive understanding of relevant Legislation and Industry Guidelines pertaining to the Leisure & Aquatics Industry.
- Demonstrated achievement in the management of Leisure & Aquatic Operations, with experience in the following; resolving complex operational problems, accurately managing a budget across multiple venues, Risk Assessments and Risk Management, as well as managing Leisure & Aquatic Centre building, plant & equipment maintenance.
- Proficiency in administration and achieving set KPI’s.
- Sound ability and experience with Microsoft Office products and other relevant software.

The salary range for this opportunity is
**$**
**103,541** (Grade I, Step 1) to
**$120,331** (Grade I, Step 5) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
