Job Title: Direct Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Worker to join our team in Gladstone and surrounding areas.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities. As a Direct Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support with daily living activities, personal care, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with personal care, including showering, toileting, dressing, and medication administration
  • Provide support with domestic duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social events, and recreational activities
  • Use hoists and slide sheets to transfer clients safely
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other support staff to achieve individual goals
Requirements:
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • A Blue Card (Working with Children Card)
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check (Working with Individuals with Disabilities, formerly a Yellow Card)
  • Commitment to infection prevention and control measures, including the use of PPE as directed
  • A smartphone with an iOS 13.0 and up operating system or an Android 6.0 and up operating system

  • An hourly rate based on your industry-related experience and qualifications
  • Above award minimum pay level of $33.01/hr at Level 1.1 for those entering the industry on a casual position
  • Paid industry-leading training provided by health professionals
  • Additional penalty rates for night and weekend shifts (as per the SCHADS Award)
