Purpose of the Role

This exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Planning Officer to join our Strategic Operational Planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing plans that enable the department to execute its responsibilities as outlined in legislation and strategic plans within the context of fire and disaster management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop whole-of-government/whole-of-community hazard-specific best practice strategies, policies, frameworks, and plans to prepare for, respond to, and recover from fire and disaster events.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of departmental plans that enable the department's hazard management responsibilities, support operations, and integrate with Queensland's disaster management arrangements.
  • Provide advice on the interpretation of departmental plans and planning requirements to ensure that work undertaken by the department complies with legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Undertake sector-wide research to identify issues and trends associated with respective hazards, including strategic analysis to develop hazard-specific and departmental plans.

Salary

A competitive salary package is being offered, with an estimated annual salary range of $115,755 - $123,608.
