We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Consultant to join our team in Brisbane. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience working on complex projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality engineering designs and feasibility studies.

  • Contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary engineering designs and feasibility studies, ensuring they meet project scope, timeframes, and standards.
  • Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues, providing clear and concise recommendations for improvement.
  • Deliver best practice technical solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare equipment procurement packages, designs, calculations, and cost estimates for conventional engineering, research, and development assignments.
  • Familiarize yourself with standard discipline deliverables and work processes on projects, ensuring seamless collaboration with colleagues.
  • Demonstrate initiative and basic leadership skills to guide small work groups towards achieving common objectives.
  • Develop networks and relationships within teams, across the organization, and with clients, fostering open communication and cooperation.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders, estimating design hours and costs accurately.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Previous experience working in engineering consulting, EPC/EPCM in the mining and resources sectors, preferably with Ausenco.
  • Design experience using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or Hexagon Smartplant, with proficiency in software and tools.
  • A sound understanding of current codes and standards, including Australian and IEC/IEEE regulations.
  • RPEQ accreditation or willingness to work towards it.
  • The ability to travel, if required, to support project needs.
Salary

The salary for this role is estimated at AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
