Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Acute Aged Care unit. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to patients, working closely with our nursing staff to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will also be committed to providing exceptional patient care, with a focus on dignity, respect, and compassion.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, including those with complex needs. You will be responsible for providing assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, as well as supporting patients with their medication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to patients, working closely with nursing staff to deliver excellent patient outcomes.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support patients with their medication needs, ensuring that medications are administered correctly and safely.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and dignity.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A current Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance (Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a acute aged care environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
