Irrigation Farmers Network is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers independent research and extension services to advance sustainable and profitable farming practices.

We are seeking a General Manager who thrives on collaboration, values diverse perspectives, and wants to contribute to meaningful change in agriculture and rural communities.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Board, the General Manager will guide strategy, operations, funding opportunities, and commercial relationships. This role is perfect for a collaborative leader who values building strong teams, engaging stakeholders, and balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture that reflects the values of the farming community.
  • Oversee operational and financial performance, including project budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including farmers, industry partners, and government bodies.
  • Continue to seek funding opportunities that capitalise on our organisation's strengths and capabilities.
  • Identify and manage risks to ensure sustainable growth and organisational resilience.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience in leadership and governance roles, an understanding of not-for-profit organisations, and excellent communication skills.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary package estimated at AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum.
