
Detail-Oriented Payroll Specialist Wanted

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Payroll Officer to join our team on a part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to build hands-on experience in a fast-paced, end-to-end payroll environment, supported by a collaborative and friendly team.
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees, ensuring all transactions are accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Set up new employees in the payroll system, capturing all onboarding data correctly.
- Manage and process employee changes, including salary adjustments, higher duties, and applicable allowances or deductions.
- Calculate and process termination payments, reconciling annual leave and long service leave.
- Reconcile salary packaging accounts and coordinate with external providers for accurate processing and reporting.
- Manage Superannuation, preparing and reconciling weekly super payments.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance service delivery.
- Apply relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation to ensure payroll compliance.
- Respond to general payroll enquiries from employees and management, providing timely and accurate support.
- Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams for employee data alignment, reporting, and compliance.
- 2–5+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, strong knowledge of payroll systems and procedures.
- Understanding of relevant awards, employment legislation, taxation, and superannuation regulations.
- Proven ability to manage payroll for 1000+ employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, data manipulation, and complex formatting.
- Experience in high-volume data entry and database management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Detailed oriented and well-organized, with a proactive mindset and customer-focused service commitment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, liaising effectively across levels of an organisation.
