Job Overview

The role of Principal Electrical Engineer – Substations involves leading complex substation designs, ensuring they meet the highest technical standards while managing project delivery. This includes mentoring and inspiring the next generation of engineers, sharing expertise to help them grow into future leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing Substation Designs: Develop robust and innovative substation engineering designs for high voltage electricity networks.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with others to deliver projects as part of a team.
  • Client Management: Manage client expectations while building strong relationships to achieve successful outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver successful project outcomes.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, combined with experience in software tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar engineering design platforms. You must also possess project management expertise and be able to contribute to the power business more holistically.
