Job Summary:

To guarantee the efficiency of our laboratory operations, we are seeking a skilled technician to manage the receipt, logging, inventorying, and labeling of samples, reagents, and materials in accordance with laboratory standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, label, log, and store samples and reagents as per SOPs and LIMS.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions and optimize storage space across temperature ranges.
  • Maintain chain of custody and verify delivery/shipment conditions, reporting discrepancies.
  • Prepare shipments and execute/document sample destruction.
  • Support lab operations: sample preparation e.g., cell isolation from blood samples, cryopreservation, thawing and counting. Perform solution/reagent preparation.
  • Support equipment maintenance, inventory, and file archiving.
  • Perform tasks and maintain documentation as per appropriate SOP and applicable GLP regulations and GCLP guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Laboratory Sciences.
  • 1 year experience in a laboratory (an asset);
  • Experience working in a biological safety cabinet under sterile conditions;
  • Experience with PBMC (isolation by Ficoll or CPT, cryopreservation, thawing, counting with hemocytometer) (an asset);
  • Experience in a GLP/GCLP environment (an asset);
  • Organized and rigorous in the conduct of their work;
  • Good record keeping skills and attention to detail;
  • Dynamic and motivated.
