Beef Feedlot Graduate Opportunity

This is a unique chance for recent graduates or final year students to gain hands-on experience in the Australian beef feedlot industry.

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will be exposed to various departments and operations within the feedlot, developing their skills and knowledge in rations allocation and commodity management, livestock procurement and backgrounding, animal health and husbandry, and maintenance of plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Ration Allocation and Commodity Management: Ensure accurate and efficient management of rations and commodities to optimize production.
  2. Livestock Procurement and Backgrounding: Oversee the procurement and backgrounding of livestock to meet production targets.
  3. Animal Health and Husbandry: Develop and implement strategies to maintain optimal animal health and welfare.
  4. Maintenance of Plant and Equipment: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs to ensure smooth operation of plant and equipment.
Requirements
  • Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, Veterinary Technology, or related degree;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Proactive and hands-on approach;
  • Willingness to live and work in regional Queensland (accommodation available).
