Early Childhood Education and Care Sector Opportunity

This highly sought-after opportunity is designed to provide supply side interventions into the Early Childhood Education and Care Sector.

About the Role

The Principal Commercial and Market Advisor will lead work to develop insights into the operation of the ECEC market in NSW, inform investment priorities, and build on economic modelling showing the relationship between availability and cost of childcare with workforce participation.

Key responsibilities include leading complex economic analysis and market monitoring, providing advice on areas of risk and possible mitigation strategies, and modelling the impact of reforms and policy proposals to support decision making.

Key Functions:

  • Leading complex economic analysis and market monitoring
  • Providing advice on areas of risk and possible mitigation strategies
  • Modelling the impact of reforms and policy proposals to support decision making
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as economics, education, business, management or social sciences, and/or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Strong economic and commercial data analytical skills and excellent written and presentation skills to communicate complex ideas to a range of audiences
  • Ability to act independently to plan, lead and organise the work of the team to deliver high quality support to the Directorate to achieve agreed objectives and performance targets
  • Experience in managing complex and sensitive issues
  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check)
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
